I use highly figured woods and natural burrs softening the edges and characteristic graining by plenty of sanding. A coat of oil is then applied and finished with several coats of wax to produce a tactile, hand crafted feel to my work.
I also like to work with other artists in ceramics and metals to add variation to my work.
I believe that as much care should be taken with
the inside of the box. To achieve
this, the interiors are lined with untreated naturally aromatic cedars and good quality
fabrics.
Boxes are designed around the new timber that arrives in my workshop, allowing the
wood grain to help me shape the work, making each piece unique.
The makers mark and
date stamp add to this.
These boxes can be tailored to your requirements.
