Nita McDowell uses natural forms taken from the sea as inspiration. Incorporating found objects, gathered whilst beachcombing, she casts these in precious metals, with a variety of finishes such as oxidising and gold plating. These are combined with semi-precious stones and beads with fresh water pearls. In doing so her work evolves organically to incorporate shape and form to evoke memories of the ocean; sea treasures whether they are created or discovered.
